Vrouwen met multiple sclerose (MS) bevinden zich vaak in de vruchtbare levensfase, waardoor vragen ontstaan over de veiligheid van ziektebehandeling tijdens een (mogelijke) zwangerschap.1 Voor ocrelizumab geldt het advies om gedurende de behandeling én tot ten minste 4 maanden na de behandeling anticonceptieve maatregelen te nemen.2 Om inzicht te krijgen in de risico’s, is in een observationele cohortstudie onderzocht wat de effecten zijn van ocrelizumab-blootstelling rondom de zwangerschap op de uitkomsten voor de zwangerschap, de gezondheid van de zuigeling en maternale complicaties. In dit artikel bespreken we de opzet en de belangrijkste resultaten van deze studie.1
