In de zogenaamde CONTACT-studie1 wordt de impact van radiofrequente thermocoagulatie via diepte-elektroden, een loco-regionale minimaalinvasieve behandeling, op de epilepsiebron en de effecten ervan op hersenactiviteit elders in het brein onderzocht. Ons doel is om te achterhalen of veranderingen in hersenactiviteit binnen het epilepsienetwerk verband houden met de klinische resultaten (aanvals- en neuro(psycho)logische uitkomst) van deze behandeling voor patiënten met een medicatie-resistente epilepsie.
